Nothing More continues to captivate the rock world with their emotionally charged music, and their latest release, a new version of “Freefall” featuring Chris Daughtry, is no exception. The track, which appears on the Carnal (Deluxe) edition released today, is an evocative anthem about letting go and finding strength in the midst of uncertainty. With Daughtry’s soaring vocals adding a layer of depth and raw emotion, “Freefall” becomes a chilling, powerful piece that resonates deeply with anyone who has faced a major life transition.
The song’s impact is further magnified by its accompanying music video, which tells the gripping story of a firefighter battling mental health struggles. His journey takes a turn when he forms an unexpected bond with a homeless dog, ultimately finding new purpose and healing. Directed by Stephen Wayne Mallet, who previously worked with the band on “Fade In, Fade Out,” the video brings an authenticity to the narrative by featuring real firefighters and first responders. Actor Michael Lombardi, known for his role in Rescue Me, also appears in the video, adding further depth to the portrayal of the emotional and psychological battles faced by those in high-stakes professions.
In a powerful move, Nothing More has also announced a partnership with K9s For Warriors, an organization dedicated to providing service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD and other invisible wounds. With the staggering statistic that approximately 20 veterans take their own lives each day, K9s For Warriors seeks to make a real difference by pairing these individuals with specially trained rescue dogs. The band’s collaboration helps bring awareness to this cause while also supporting first responders through the organization’s Station Dog program, which provides therapy dogs to law enforcement and fire departments to aid those exposed to traumatic experiences.
Guitarist Mark Vollelunga expressed the band’s deep connection to the mission of K9s For Warriors: “With ‘Freefall,’ we want people to know they’re not alone when everything feels like it’s collapsing around them. We fully believe in the power these animals have to create peace and bring about real, healthy changes in people’s lives.” The band has also pledged to donate a portion of proceeds from pet-related merchandise on their website to the cause, reinforcing their commitment to mental health awareness and animal rescue.

Carnal (Deluxe) includes additional bonus tracks alongside “Freefall,” featuring live recordings and remixes, solidifying the album as one of Nothing More’s most dynamic releases yet. The band, known for their transcendent stage presence, will be hitting the road on tour with Disturbed and Daughtry, beginning March 29 in Cincinnati, OH.
As Nothing More continues to push boundaries with their music and message, “Freefall” stands as a touching reminder that even in the darkest moments, there is hope, healing, and the possibility of renewal.
