King Diamond’s performances are always excellent, and this was no exception. From the moment the iconic front man emerged on stage, the crowd went insane. A true horror show unfolding before their eyes, King Diamond took the audience on a dark and twisted journey, with the first three tracks off the Abigail album before wishing Boston a Happy Halloween! and playing Halloween. Each song pairs expertly with the chilling visuals that have become a trademark of King Diamond’s live shows.

The band itself was as tight and precise as ever. Guitarists Andy LaRocque and Mike Wead shredded with impeccable technique, while drummer Matt Thompson and bassist Pontus Egberg provided a pounding rhythm section that kept the energy high. As always, King’s vocal performance was a show of staggering range, effortlessly switching between his trademark falsetto and powerful lows, all while playing the role of the eerie storyteller with unmatched theatricality.

King introduced two new tracks “Spider Lilly” and “Electro Therapy” from his highly anticipated album trilogy, set for release in 2025. He teased the crowd with glimpses of new characters and plotlines, hinting that the new material would be just as intricate and captivating as his past work. The new songs are already classic King Diamond!

Highlights of the night included classics like “Burn,” “Voodoo,” and “Halloween”, each accompanied by visual elements that brought the stories to life in vivid detail. “Spider Lilly” and “Two Little Girls” were haunting and unforgettable, while “Sleepless Nights” and “Eye of the Witch” had the crowd singing along.

From start to finish, this Halloween show was a masterclass in both metal and storytelling. King Diamond continues to prove that no one can match his unique blend of horror and music, delivering a performance that is equal parts theatrical, technical, and spine-tingling. If you’re a fan of heavy metal or horror, there’s no better experience than a King Diamond concert.
