Exclusive Interview with Country Artist Claudia Hoyser: Unveiling the Heart Behind the Music

Interview by Rebecca Clark

In an exclusive interview with country sensation Claudia Hoyser, the artist opened up about her journey, inspirations, and creative ventures. With her warm personality and infectious energy, Hoyser shared insights into her latest single “Sweet Twenties,” her songwriting process, and the array of passions that fuel her creativity.

**A Journey Through Music and Life**

Hoyser’s musical journey began long before her debut album in 2021. “I’ve been singing and writing songs in my diaries for as long as I can remember,” Hoyser said as she reflected on her deep-rooted connection with music. “I had the opportunity to start working on my music career right out of college and haven’t looked back since!”

Her latest single, “Sweet Twenties,” holds a special place in her heart. “I wrote Sweet Twenties with my co-writer a few months before I turned 29,” she shares. “It’s really just a little note to myself that everything is going to be okay.” The song captures the bittersweet essence of transitioning from one phase of life to another, resonating with many in their twenties as they embark entering their 30’s.

**Behind the Scenes of Creativity**

The accompanying music video for “Sweet Twenties” offers an authentic glimpse into Hoyser’s life. “My drummer Tim Leverett and my manager/co-writer of the song Tony Gross filmed, edited and produced this music video with me,” she reveals. Shot during a significant moment of transition—her move from a studio apartment—the video exudes the raw emotion and authenticity of real moments that happened in her life.

**Musical Influences and Creative Process**

Drawing inspiration from artists like Miranda Lambert, Chris Stapleton, and Kacey Musgraves, Hoyser’s music reflects a blend of traditional country roots with modern influences. “Songwriting is funny for me, Hoyser said. “There is definitely not one way to do it and I think that’s what keeps it so fresh and creative feeling.”

Hoyser said for her songwriting can begin with a single word or line, a story idea, or even a captivating guitar riff that inspires the lyrics to follow. “The best songs usually come to me when I’m not thinking about writing at all,” she says of her songwriting process. “Those are my favorite songs because they feel like they were supposed to be written.”

Hoyser’s musical inspirations are diverse and constantly evolving. “The list is ever changing,” Hoyser said. To offer her fans a glimpse into her musical world, she curated a Spotify playlist called CH Sounds, which she updates weekly. “I thought it’d be fun to give everyone a little peek into what I am personally listening to,” Claudia explained. **Beyond Music: Passion Projects**

Outside of her music career, Hoyser is a woman of many talents and passions. It’s truly remarkable to witness how she’s established herself in other ventures that seamlessly complement her music career. From crafting her own coffee and whiskey brand to indulging in painting, weaving, skiing, and spending time on the water, her creativity knows no bounds. Hoyser’s entrepreneurial spirit shines through as she shared her journey of turning her love for coffee into a successful venture.

“It’s been amazing to see how everything has snowballed,” Hoyser expressed. “The coolest part is that it’s all been so fan-driven. I never sought out to create a coffee, whiskey or candles! I am a huge coffee lover, so we hid a vintage espresso Moka pot in all of my Hoyser Country Monday videos for everyone to find while they watched. The series went viral and everyone knew how much I loved coffee after that!”

After being approached by a local bar owner near her hometown, Claudia ventured into the world of coffee, a venture that exceeded expectations. Her Hoyser Country Blend Coffee is now available in various retailers across New York and Idaho, including Tops Markets, as well as online. Following the success of the coffee line, a distillery approached her to create an alcoholic version, resulting in the Hoyser Country Drunken Bean coffee whiskey. Adding to her collection, Claudia introduced woodwick candles scented after the coffee and whiskey, a collaboration with Fizzy Bombz from her hometown of Fairport, NY.

Claudia’s products can be found on hoysercountry.com (with the exception of the whiskey which is available in stores in western & central NY and Idaho. More states coming soon!)

**Dreams and Gratitude**

Reflecting on her journey thus far, Hoyser has so much gratitude for the support of her fans and the opportunities she’s been afforded. “Last summer, I opened for Little Big Town at the California Rodein Salinas. It was truly a dream come true,” she said. Opening for Little Big Town was a surreal and humbling moment for Hoyser. “I just I remember feeling like ‘wow, this is exactly why we work so hard, for moments like this.’”

As she looks ahead, Hoyser’s infectious enthusiasm and unwavering passion for music continue to drive her. With upcoming projects and performances on the horizon, she invites fans to join her on this exciting journey. “I am going to be traveling a lot this summer and would love to see some new friends out at a show or two,” Claudia said.

When asked about her favorite song to perform live, Claudia Hoyser shared that it varies from show to show, highlighting the element of surprise in her performances. She stated, “It actually changes show to show! I like how my songs can still surprise me.” Despite her initial doubts, she revealed that “Often times, that song is ‘Wicked,’” Claudia confessed, “I never thought people were going to love that song right away because it’s a little slower and sad.” However, she discovered that many listeners could relate to the theme of “a wicked heartbreak.”

For Claudia Hoyser, music is more than just a career—it’s a way of life, an expression of her soul, and a journey of self-discovery. As she continues to captivate audiences with her heartfelt lyrics and soulful melodies, one thing remains certain: Claudia Hoyser is a rising star destined for greatness in the world of country music.

Full Q & A with Claudia:

Static Noise Mag: Tell me a little bit about yourself and your music?

Claudia Hoyser: Where do I even start! I’ve been singing and writing songs in my diaries for as long as I can remember. I didn’t ever think it would turn into what it has now.. music just had a way of coming back into my life no matter what! I had the opportunity to start working on my music career right out of college and haven’t looked back since! I was so lucky that the country music community embraced me with open arms. I’ve been able to travel the country, open up for my favorite artist and it’s even lead to my own coffee and whiskey line! I released my debut album in 2021, a bunch of singles since and I am working on brand new music to put out this year.

Static Noise Mag: What was your inspiration behind your latest single “Sweet Twenties?”

Claudia Hoyser: I wrote Sweet Twenties with my co-writer a few months before I turned 29. It’s really just a little note to myself that everything is going to be okay. I hope a lot of twenty somethings can relate! I feel like a lot of the time when people hit their late 20s… perspective starts to change and sometimes a lot of pressure sets in… at least for me it did… like it’s really time to “get it together.” I know before I actually got here, I always viewed turning thirty in a negative light and that my twenties were supposed to be the most fun and adventurous times of my life! This song is really about how your twenties can be everything from amazing, full of love and loss, chaotic, stressful and surprising – and just because they’re coming to a close, doesn’t mean it’s such a bad thing. At least in my experience, I feel like I had to go through so much in my twenties to learn how to be a better, stronger, happier, more fulfilled “me,” for the next phase to come… and I’m honestly looking really forward to it.

Static Noise Mag: Who filmed the video for “Sweet Twenties?” Give us some behind the scenes intel about your experience filming it/info where it was filmed ect.

Claudia Hoyser: It’s amazing to have such a talented team behind me! My drummer Tim Leverett and my manager/co-writer of the song Tony Gross filmed, edited, and produced this music video with me! It’s all pretty real. I was actually moving out of my studio apartment that weekend and asked if they wanted to come film some of the process. It seemed like the perfect way to showcase “moving on.” We even had some cameos by Robyn Ottolini and Taylor Austin Dye in the last “birthday party” shot! We were lucky enough to have some cameras on the scene at our recent show with them at Touch of Texas!

Static Noise Mag: What artists are your inspiration?

Claudia Hoyser: The list is ever changing! Of course, I have some absolute favorites that have inspired me throughout my entire music career like Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Chris Stapleton, and Kacey Musgraves. But I am truly being inspired by new artists every day. I actually just started a spotify playlist called CH Sounds that I am updating each week to give my listeners a better idea of who I am as a person and as an artist! I thought it’d be fun to give everyone a little peak into what I am personally listening to! Feel free to follow CH Sounds here!

Static Noise Mag: Can you give us a little insight on your songwriting and recording process?

Claudia Hoyser: Songwriting is funny for me, there is definitely not one way to do it.. and I think that’s what keeps it so fresh and creative feeling. It actually seems like there’s a million ways to write a song. Sometimes it’s just a word or a line that pops in, sometimes it’s just a story idea. Other times, I might hear some great guitar riff and know that I need to come up with the words to go on top. The best songs usually come to me when I’m not thinking about writing at all. That’s how Sweet Twenties started. I think I was just overwhelmed that day with the idea of leaving my twenties and it just sort of fell out and fell together. Those are my favorite songs because they feel like they were supposed to be written.

Static Noise Mag: Besides your music what other passions or creative ventures do you have?

Claudia Hoyser: Well, my huge love of coffee has turned into a full-blown coffee and whiskey brand that I am so proud of! Check out my Hoyser Country Blend coffee and kcups and Drunken Bean Coffee Whiskey at hoysercountry.com! I also love to paint and weave (believe it or not!) ski, snowboard, cook and spend as much time on a boat or jet ski as I possibly can in my free time!

Static Noise Mag: What can your fans do to help spread the word about your music?

Claudia Hoyser: I would love if everyone could follow me on Spotify and TikTok, add Sweet Twenties to their playlists and share a song to their stories!!

Static Noise Mag: You have a great variety of merchandise available for your fans, how did you start offering products like coffee and candles?

Claudia Hoyser: It’s been amazing to see how everything has snowballed!! The coolest part is that it’s all been so fan-driven. I never sought out to create a coffee, whiskey or candles! I am a huge coffee lover, so we hid a vintage espresso Moka pot in all of my Hoyser Country Monday videos for everyone to find while they watched. The series went viral and everyone knew how much I loved coffee after that! I was playing out near my hometown when I was approached by the bar owner about starting my own coffee to share with my fans. Let’s just say it went a little better than expected! It is now in Tops Markets, several other NY retailers, and chain stores in Idaho! You can find ground, whole bean and kcups at Hoysercountry.com and Amazon. About a year after we launched Hoyser Country Blend Coffee, a distillery reached out about turning the coffee into something alcoholic. After some delicious tastings, we released Hoyser Country Drunken Bean coffee whiskey! The latest addition to the Hoyser Country collection is the woodwick candles! Scented after the coffee and the whiskey, of course. They’re incredible!! We recently put these out in collaboration with Fizzy Bombz, a local favorite in my hometown of Fairport, NY.

**Everything can be found on hoysercountry.com (with the exception of the whiskey which is available in stores in western & central NY and Idaho. More states coming soon!)

Static Noise Mag: What has been one of your favorite shows you have played in your career and why?

Claudia Hoyser: Last summer, I opened for Little Big Town at the California Rodein Salinas. It was truly a dream come true. My whole band flew all the way out there and we spent the day of the show hanging out with LBT. They were so welcoming and warm and every bit of that show, from the views to the sounds, is locked into my memory!! I just I remember feeling like “wow, this is exactly why we work so hard, for moments like this.”

Static Noise Mag: What is one of your favorite songs to perform live?

Claudia Hoyser: It actually changes show to show! I like how my songs can still surprise me. Sometimes when I am not expecting it, one song will really stand out as a crowd pleaser. Often times, that song is Wicked. I never thought people were going to love that song right away because it’s a little slower and sad. Turns out a lot of listeners can really relate to a wicked heartbreak.

Static Noise Mag: What artist would you like to go on tour with?

Claudia Hoyser: It would be a dream to tour with Little Big Town. After seeing how they do it – with so much fun and enthusiasm after so many years, they definitely have it all figured out. I think I could learn a lot from them… and simply just have a good time!!

Static Noise Mag: Is there anything you would like to add?
Claudia Hoyser:
I am going to be traveling a lot this summer and would love to see some new friends out at a show or two! Keep checking in on my Instagram, Facebook and TikTok for new music and more! Send me a message if you read this and thank you so much for all the love and support, Static Noise!!
