Halestorm is Back With a New Album, a Summer Tour, and a Whole Lot of Fire

By Renee Clark Quade

Okay, fellow freaks… it’s happening. Halestorm just officially announced their sixth studio album Everest, and I don’t know about you, but I am not okay.

This band has been the soundtrack to so many of our lives—through the highs, the heartbreaks, the rage, the resilience, and now they’re gearing up to drop what’s being called their most personal, powerful album yet. Everest drops August 8 via Atlantic Records, and judging by everything we’ve seen (and heard) so far, it’s going to be an emotional and sonic mountain.

The lead single “Darkness Always Wins” is out now and let me just say—chills. Straight-up, full-body goosebumps. It’s moody, it’s heavy, it’s honest in that brutally beautiful Halestorm way. Lzzy’s voice has never sounded more real. The lyrics dig into that feeling we all know too well, that fight between light and dark, and how sometimes, just making it through is the victory.

This isn’t just a new era. This is Halestorm standing at the peak of everything they’ve built… battered, fearless, and still swinging. As Lzzy said, “Everest is a map of our journey, our trials, our heartbreak, our love, and our redemption.” It’s an open invitation to climb it with them, and you know I’ll be first in line.

Halestorm is gearing up for an exciting road ahead. They’ll be joining Iron Maiden for a European tour starting May 27th, followed by a tour with Volbeat, kicking off on July 17th in Denver, CO. In the Fall, they’ll hit the stage for a co-headlining tour with Lindsey Stirling. If you’ve ever experienced Halestorm live, you know one thing for sure—they don’t just perform, they explode with energy.

If you haven’t already seen it, Lzzy’s launched a brand new Instagram page—and she’s been dropping hints, sneak peeks, and raw behind-the-scenes moments almost daily. Go follow her at instagram.com/lzzyhale to keep up with the madness. She’s giving us all a front-row seat to the making of Everest—and whatever else she’s brewing.

This band has never shied away from being vulnerable or loud or completely unfiltered, and Everest feels like the ultimate version of that. I’ve been riding this storm since the early days, and somehow they just keep leveling up. If this is what the climb looks like, I’m all in.

So crank up “Darkness Always Wins,” mark your calendars, and start prepping for a summer tour that’s going to tear the roof off every venue it hits. Halestorm is back. And they’re taking us higher than ever before.

See you at the summit.
