Brandy Clark was a true hidden gem at this year’s New York State Fair on August 28th at Chevy Court, playing a set filled with incredible vocals, heartfelt storytelling and the kind of genuine presence that makes you feel like you’re getting to know the artist behind the songs.

An accomplished songwriter who has written alongside artists including Reba McEntire, Kacey Musgraves and Miranda Lambert, Clark’s own music is every bit as impressive. Her band was fantastic as well, with a chemistry that was impossible to miss. They’re also the band featured on her upcoming record, due out in 2027.

One of the sweetest moments of the set came when Clark performed “Three Kids No Husband” for a little girl in the audience who had requested the song. Seeing Clark step up with just her guitar and play it for a young fan was a special moment that perfectly captured what makes her such a compelling performer.

Clark may still feel like a hidden gem to many, but her talent as a singer, songwriter and storyteller deserves a much bigger spotlight.
