Halestorm Drops New Single “Rain Your Blood On Me” and It’s an All-Out Battle Cry

By Renee Clark Quade

Halestorm just unleashed their latest single and it’s a beast. “Rain Your Blood On Me” is out now and gives us another taste of what’s coming on their new album Everest, dropping August 8.

The song kicks off with a slow, stomping beat before exploding into a full-on rock assault with Arejay Hale going wild on drums, Joe Hottinger ripping on guitar, and Lzzy Hale’s vocals doing what they do best… absolutely tearing through the mix. Josh Smith keeps the whole thing grounded with a deep, gritty bass line that ties it all together.

This is the third song we’ve heard from Everest, following “Darkness Always Wins” and the title track. “Darkness Always Wins” is already making moves on the rock charts, and this new one might just blow it out of the water.

Lzzy says the track is “our ode to women” and described it as a war cry. The band actually debuted it live at Ozzy Osbourne’s final show, where Lzzy was the only woman on the bill. The song was born late one night in Savannah, Georgia, when the phrase rain your blood on me popped into her head around 3 a.m. under a sky full of Spanish moss and eerie vibes. By the next morning, it had turned into a full-blown poem that naturally became the bones of the track.

“We may not win the war in our lifetime,” Lzzy said, “but we can pass the torch to our daughters so they may light the way.”

Pretty powerful stuff.

The band is heading back out on the road, first jumping on some summer dates with Volbeat starting July 17, then hitting the road with Lindsey Stirling and Apocalyptica in September for the (n)EVEREST tour. That run is shaping up to be something special and definitely one to catch if it hits your city.
