Alexandra Kay Gives Kegs Canal Side Some Backroad Therapy

Review and Photos by Rebecca Clark

On April 28th, Kegs Canal Side in Jordan NY hosted the “Backroad Therapy Tour 2” featuring Smithfield and headliner Alexandra Kay. The night kicked off with Smithfield, a talented Nashville-based duo that did a fantastic job warming up the crowd. They played a variety of original songs, as well as a mashup of covers that ranged from rock to country music. Despite only having a short 30-minute set, Smithfield’s performance was very engaging and left the crowd wanting more.

Kicking off her set Alexandra Kay dove into one of her latest singles “Backroad Therapy.” Alexandra Kay is a fully independent artist and made sure to personally thank her fans during the show for getting her to where she is today. Kay’s humble stage presence and unique style made her stand out as a performer, from the sparkled initial lettering “AK” on the base of her mic stand to her sparkling stunning dress and tights, which reflected her sparkling personality.

Alexandra’s fans catapulted her career on TikTok, and she expressed gratitude for being able to sing and make coffee with Randy Travis. Her hard work and dedication shone through her performance and left the audience captivated.

After the show, both Smithfield and Alexandra stayed to meet with fans and show their appreciation. Alexandra’s merchandise was reasonably priced and well-received by fans. The entire concert was a memorable experience, and those who missed out on this show should not miss Alexandra Kay on tour this summer.
