They lit up the stage and delivered a setlist that seamlessly blended their timeless classics with some refreshing new tracks. From iconic hits like “Slave to the Grind,” “Big Guns,” “18 and Life,” “Piece of Me,” “Quicksand Jesus,” “I Remember,” to “Monkey Business,” before closing out the set with ”Youth Gone Wild.”

But it wasn’t just about nostalgia, Skid Row delivered a setlist that seamlessly melded their timeless classics with some refreshing new songs: “Time Bomb” and their latest album’s title track: “The Gang’s All Here.” These songs showcased the band’s enduring ability to create powerful, hard-hitting music that stands the test of time.

For many in the audience, this marked their first introduction to Skid Row’s new frontman, Erik Grönwall, hailing from Sweden. When he initially joined Skid Row, fans were curious about how he would fit in. The internet buzzed with excitement, harkening back to his 2009 performance on Sweden Idol, where he belted out rock anthems, including Skid Row’s “18 and Life.” Grönwall’s career soared from there, encompassing a solo album, a role in NBC’s live broadcast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Jesus Christ Superstar, and a successful decade with his band H.E.A.T.

Now, a little over a year since his debut with Skid Row, Grönwall infuses the band with a fresh and dynamic presence. His vocals evoke the raw energy of the early Skid Row days (late 80’s/90s), yet he adds his distinctive style, propelling Skid Row into 2023 with renewed dynamism and enthusiasm while preserving their robust signature sound.
