On August 23rd, the NY State Fair’s opening day was marked by a big crowd of all ages gathering at Chevy Court to celebrate 50 years of hip hop with Salt ‘N’ Pepa. Before their entrance, the speakers roared, vibrating the atmosphere and setting an intense tone. When they finally stepped on stage, both artists exuded style, adorned in sparkling outfits personalized with their names on the sleeves. Flawless hair and makeup completed their look.

Their performance was nothing short of amazing. The iconic duo sounded fantastic, and the energy was sensational. As trailblazers in the hip hop industry, they’ve paved the way for countless young women artists. Accompanied by their DJ, they rocked the stage for an hour, treating the audience to timeless hits like “Push It,” “Let’s Talk About Sex,” and “Whatta Man.” The concert was a true celebration of hip hop’s legacy and impact over the last five decades.
